lucky girl

Fate brought Jeff and I together in 1999.  If we hadn't bought our motorcycles that Summer... and if the instructor hadn't let me slip into the class after the '5 minutes late policy'... and the seat next to Jeff hadn't been available, if he hadn't gotten my phone number... and if I hadn't been around to take that call... and, and, and... Astrid might not have existed.  We can't imagine our lives without this little darlin.

I think we figured out what she will be for Halloween this year (if we get back to Missoula from my cousin's wedding in Portland, OR in time for Trick or Treating)...

I finished another dragon puppet this weekend...might be my favorite one yet.  Before I threw it into the washing machine to felt it, Astrid tried it on and an idea was born!

I took this video last week just messing around with the video function on my Canon 5D Mark II with a new mic and viewfinder.  We made grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch and she thought the wedges looked like sailboats.  I cannot resist the chunky fingers poking around in the gooey cheese.

These past couple weeks have been a blur.  Time is a Blur of summer fun.

Another side note:  Skagit is a lucky girl, as are the rest of us!  The cone came off along with the drain tube on Monday.  Skagit had one last hoorah with her cone, though.  On the way out to the car to go to the vet she jetted past Astrid at breakneck speed, the cone hit Astrid with such force it launched her into the landscaping to the side of the walk.  Thank God that cone is history!!!!!

She is one precious little cutie! I LOVE the dragon, it is such an amazing color and so neat! Bella still talks about little Astrid, she left a lasting impression on her!

Glad your little furry girl is healing up. Must be tough having that cone on. You know I saw a dog recently with a little inflatable tube around his neck. I asked the owner about it and he said it was better than the elizabethan collar because they had more range of motion. But doesn't matter now anyway huh...just thought I'd share.

Man that little girl is growing up and just keeps getting cuter and cuter!
