a "gucky" for my trusty assistant

This morning Astrid and I went up to Wilson's shop to look at a little table he has for her.  I had mentioned to him a few weeks ago we are looking for a used children's table (and chairs) to put in the living room.  I had no idea he already had scoffed a desk up with her in mind (more photos to come - once it is finished.  It is so amazing - you won't believe how beautiful it is ~ it is beyond perfect!  Wilson never ever does anything halfway.

Wilson had something else for Astrid to take home today!  A "gucky" ~ "Ducky" for those of you who don't speak kid.  Wilson has been making these for years for his own grandchildren and family friends and we feel so priveledged to get one!  The sound that this little guy makes as he waddles across the wood floor in the kitchen is so realistic!  He has rubber feet and a rubber body and everything else is made of wood.  Astrid has been dragging the poor guy around all day.  Gucky even had to sit in the reading chair with us before her nap this afternoon.  I had to sneakily hide Gucky while she was distracted or he would have ended up in the crib with her!  I tell ya!

On Tuesdays and Thursdays Wilson and Margaret take care of two of their grandsons for the day and Astrid (especially with this girly-girl bow on her head) was the belle of the ball this morning.

Gucky in the reading chair and "in action" in the living room today.  I just love him!

In other news.  This weekend was a busy one.  We decided not to go to the lake since Astrid is still getting over a nasty cold.  She had such a coughing fit on Thursday night at midnight Jeff and I both simultaneously catapulted out of bed to "save her".  She was struggling to breathe.  It was so scary.

Jeff was busy (with Wilson) ripping out cabinets, tearing wallpaper off and sheetrocking... so Astrid and I made our own fun.  We ran (I ran my gals with the stroller).  We chased Canada geese in the park.  We also attended the last Lady Griz basketball game and I took some photos of my friend Tarah who is on the UM Dance Team.

We also had a photo session with a friend on Sunday afternoon...  Astrid is such a great assistant!  It was another inspiring shoot!  How did I get so lucky to have such beautiful friends willing to let me photograph them?

I was able to slip away for an early morning hike to the top / run to the bottom of Mount Sentinel.  When I got home Astrid was up and dressed for the day.  This is what she was wearing...  Jeff says she picked out her outfit and somehow I believe him!  Astrid really likes the new "unnies" we got last weekend for our upcoming potty training adventures ~ next month!

Last evening with temps soaring in the high 50s...we strolled over to another neighborhood park.  My girls have their eyes on a tennis ball.

Have a great rest of the week!
