honey time

(sunrise - on the Dearborn)

This past weekend I was lucky to be able to spend some time with some very special women in my life - my Bookclub Honeys (this is what we like to call ourselves). After a weekend with these women I feel so full...

We went to our friend Jen's land on the Dearborn River.

It was so great catching up and winding down with great friends, playing horseshoes (and thankfully NOT injuring one of my buddies with my ROGUE horseshoes! he he), eating great food, swimming (dunking into the frigid water, more like), running (all five of us - it was SOOOO much fun!), drinking coffee down by the river each morning, enjoying a campfire, playing guitar with Monica (you are such an inspiration!), and singing with and listening to the different voices we all posses, oh - and a great discussion about the book for those who read it (Power of the Dog). The rest of the world and the busyness of our lives could be left behind for a short piece of time. I felt suspended....

Here are a couple others from Lisa:

(this picture is deceiving - I didn't do a ton of playing but I was hoping to learn more in close proximity to someone who knows what they are doing with the instrument! - getting better with time.)

Our book for next month is "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Shaffer and Barrows, in case you were wondering.

I'm also happy to report Jeff and Astrid had a wonderful father-daughter weekend!
