As usual, there are four million things to catch you up with , but I have been more into "doing" instead of "writing" on my blog lately! Darn it!......
I have been frantically trying to get packed today for our big trip to MAINE! Astrid and I have SOOOOO been looking forward to this trip and I can't believe the time has come! Here's the thing....I didn't realize that it would be so difficult to say goodbye to Jeff....He's going on a boat trip on the coast of Alaska while we are in Maine. It is very sad that he will not be joining us. It was never this difficult before Astrid was born.
Not only will I miss Jeff's presence during the trip - I may wish he was with us tomorrow as we make our journey across the country! We have a 14 hour adventure in front of us, and I'm sure we'll fare just fine, but I'm thinking of how much has changed since our last trip we took alone without Dad...
Tomorrow I will not be whipping out a boob every time we take off and appeasing a cuddly (unmoving) babe.... I'll be juggling toys and entertaining a very mobile little gal! I wonder how I will manage even the most basic tasks (like going to the bathroom on the plane?), changing her diaper?, hmmmmm. Maybe I should wear a diaper?
To say the very least, this is going to be a full-on adventure! Just Astrid and me. I think I may not only be up for the task - I think I may revel in it! Much like an adventure race....I may be sore and tired at the end - but I'll have quite a story to tell!
