Last week while we were in Washington we left Skagit with our friends across the street. We usually leave her at Smackwater & Sprezzatura Kennels (which Skagit LOVES!!) but since it was a spur of the moment trip we left her with Dan and Angel.
WELLLLLLLLLLL, the first day she was there she escaped out of the not-quite-latched kennel and completely tore their house apart - completely. Dan got home from work to find their chihuahua Rosy and their cat Chloe huddled together in fear in the corner... every single item scattered from every single surface they once rested on... missing loaves of bread... chewed up toys... and 4 blinds destroyed. She had quite the party!
I found out about this while we were in Washington, but didn't have the heart to tell Jeff about it until we returned home. Why wreck a perfectly wonderful couple days away with family, right?...
Skagit has done some pretty crazy things but usually never destroys things like this (unless they are hers). Even as a puppy she wasn't much of a chewer. This is totally shocking, but there must be a perfectly logical reason (in her mind...like she wanted to get back home - across the street?). Why would she would do this?
The number one reason we will never leave Skag with a friend again - is that we love our friends and we would like to keep them... And the bill for her party came to lots more than it would have if she had just stayed at the kennel.

oh dear...skagit!
We just started boarding Jackie and I have to say I love it. Stress free. (plus they'll take her for free for as long as I'm in the hospital for labor. Cool!)
Oh my gosh, you must have been pissed. And, embarrassed. What a little monster - and she looks so innocent and cute.
Oh no! Poor Skagit, she must have been pissed that you left her and she didn't understand!
I feel bad for Dan, Angel and you guys too. But, I know that you felt Skagit's pain, too! She didn't want to be bad!
Hannah broke out of her kennel, somehow got the door completely off, when she was only 6 months old, when we first moved here!We thought we didn't close it right, then it happened 2 more times!
I feel the worst for Skagit since Jeff has been cold toward her since he found out... I am in protection mode...Protecting her.
