I'm sitting here at my sister's house this morning and reflecting on a good airline kharma day, yesterday. I'm still in disbelief. I left Missoula on time but when I arrived in Seattle I noticed that my first connection was delayed by two hours to Chicago. I was pretty sure that would ruin my chances of making it into Boston in time...
I went to the Chicago gate and said "I'm trying to get to Boston today.". The first thing that the two women said was "Are you Elizabeth Moore"? I was so stunned that the airline would already have this all worked out - especially on a huge travel day like yesterday!? This never happens to me! They said that they reboooked me on a DIRECT flight to Boston and that all they could get me was a middle seat! I was thinking to myself! Heck - I'll take any seat!!!!! As long as I can get HOME for the holidays. I was so happy once my butt hit that seat! Four and a half hours later I was in Boston - two and a half hours before I was scheduled to arrive in the first place!!!! I took a bus into Portland instead of Genevieve and David coming down to get me in the traffic! It was a GREAT Kharma day on the airline!
I'm glad my kharma (or whatever you want to call it) was on yesterday, since Thanksgiving is my favorite day of the year. This year Frank and his family will be there and so all the Smith Kids will be there! All of us will be there (cousins, aunts, uncles, Gram, grandkids, kids) on Mom's side of the family except my cousin Emily (who I just visited in Portland) and Jeff :0(
I wish Jeff and Skagit were here...
They are heading to Washington today by noon. Jeff is going to be with his immediate family and Skagit will be with her Mama (Ebony) and sister (Faith) at Tank and Angela's house where she was born 6 months ago.
It would make the holiday complete to have Jeff here, but he was unable to spend the extra days getting to/from Maine since he just barely got back from his hunting trip with his brother in Eastern Montana...
Happy Thanksgiving!
